Wait…What?
Last month we asked that you stay encouraged and engaged in the months leading up to the U.S. election. Then, President Joe Biden made the selfless decision to step aside. We certainly didn’t foresee the historical events that have unfolded. And although energy and excitement have entered the chat on one side of the political ledger, we expect detestation and downright disrespect to emanate from the other. Democracy for the win please! With a little over 90 days until the U.S. presidential election, pace yourself, take frequent breaks from news coverage and social media, and read something to lighten your heart.

Have you been watching the 2024 Paris Olympics? From the beautiful opening ceremony to the determination, grace, and intensity demonstrated by athletes like Simone Biles, Noah Lyles who won the 100 m dash by five one-thousandths of a second, and swimming sensation Léon Marchand to the pure joy of Snoop Dogg’s commentating, we’ve enjoyed watching the games. Speaking of determination… we can almost see our own baton hand off to the editor for Book #2. We appreciate your patience for Jasmine and T’s next story. It’ll be worth the wait.
We added another independent bookstore visit to the record while traveling to Houston last month for a family reunion. We loved the community vibe and chatted with staff at Kindred Bookstore. No surprise… we brought home a few more books for our reading lists.

P.S. I don’t think we’ve mentioned it in this space however, in addition to writing, we have other creative pursuits… painting, sewing, photography.
