Books will help us

Books will help us thrive in 2025.

Greetings Friends,

We are foregoing resolutions however, we have decided that “community” is our verb for 2025 and we have a few tasks ahead — finish projects in progress, connect with those who love to write, and read.

Join us at ReadOUT 2025 in Gulfport, Florida February 14-16, 2025. We’re scheduled to appear on an author’s panel and we’re looking forward to meeting fellow queer writers and friends in the area.

Although prolonged social media use isn’t helpful, we are constantly reminded that it is indeed an excellent avenue for us to connect with independent bookstores across the country. This year we plan to purposely visit as many independent bookstores as possible. In an effort to keep money local, we hope you will too.

Are you up for a book challenge? What about Bingo?

The folks at I Heart SapphFIC have crafted a 52-week reading challenge with freebies and prizes. Fellow author Jae is continuing her Sapphic Book Bingo 2025. To that end, our debut novel, THIS: A Simple Complex Love Story, can help you fill a block on your card such as “Your Favorite Season,” our main characters’ relationship flourishes in all four seasons or “Trapped together,” a weekend snowstorm makes life uncomfortable for Jasmine and T. Other pertinent bingo blocks may be “New to You Author,” “Witty Banter,” and “Steamy Romance.”

Our friends at QWOC Books continue to level up in 2025 as well. Aunt Georgia Lee and W.L. Tracy keep us connected to a diverse group of queer authors of color through promotions and webinars.

We remain steadfast and committed to taking up as much space as possible in being ourselves. We believe 2025 will offer plenty of opportunities to escape into books, lean on each other, and truly recognize the value of community. So, if you read a novel that speaks to you – follow the author on social media, leave a comment, or write a review.

Let’s stay community focused!

Naomi
